CSVS Awards

Josephus C. Luke Award

The Luke award will be presented to the best clinical or basic research paper presented at the annual meeting. The originality, science and quality of the presentation will be considered in reaching a decision.  It has a $500 cash award.

Cook Award

Applications   

      
Applications to the Cook, Gore and Provan educational awards should be addressed to the appropriate committee.
One  blinded copy (delete names of institutions and geographic references) and an authored copy should be submitted and formulated according to the  format:
 
1.  Covering letter

2.  Project with the following headings:
     a. Proposal Summary
     b. Research Question and 
          Objectives
     c. Background
     d. Methods
           i. Study Design/Participants/
              Bench model
          ii. Primary and Secondary
             outcomes
         iii. Data analysis
    e. Relevance to Clinical Practice
    f.  Relevance to future research

3.  Budget
 
The manuscript  should be no longer than 4 pages (references excluded) and double spaced,  Justified, in Garamond or Times New Roman. A maximum of two tables and 1 figure may also be added.

The Cook Research Award is presented to any member of the Canadian Society for Vascular Surgery (CSVS) for any deserving project in clinical or basic science research pertaining to Endovascular Surgical therapeutic strategies. The Award will be $5,000.  The winner is determined by the research committee. The winner must present his/her project at this year’s research forum at the annual meeting and  provide an update at the subsequent meeting. Gore Award

The Gore Research Award is presented to any member of the Society for any deserving project in clinical or basic science research. It has a $5,000 cash value and the winner is determined by the Research Committee. The winner must present his/her project at this year’s research forum at the annual meeting and provide an update at the subsequent meeting. All submissions should be sent to Dr. Randy Moore, Chair of the Research Committee randy.moore@calgaryhealthregion.ca

John L. Provan Award

The Proven Educational Award is presented to any member for a project pertaining to medical education. It has a cash value of $5,000 and the winner is determined by the Education Committee. The winner must present his/her project at the research forum at the annual meeting and provide an update at the following meeting. All submissions should be sent to Dr. Ravi Sidhu, Chairman of the Education Committee raviparv@hotmail.com

SIGVARIS Presidents' Award

Sponsored by Sigvaris Corp. and established in 2001, this award recognizes the most outstanding paper dealing with venous disease presented at the Annual Meeting.
